TRUMP'S LAWYERS SEEK JUDGEMENT TO BE SET ASIDE
Carol Byrne
THE President of the United States of America, Mr Donald J Trump, was represented by lawyers at a sitting of Kilrush District Court this week, in a civil matter involving a Cork-based engineer.
The case of John Vianney Lennon versus Donald J Trump was listed before Judge Patrick Durcan and barrister Pat Whyms, instructed by Ms Lorraine Burke of Houlihan Burke and Company on behalf of Mr Trump, applied to have a judgement set aside.
Mr Lennon outlined to the court that, on June I5 last, he secured a judgement of €14,095, plus costs of €725, against President Trump, after a bill for €14,095, sent to Mr Trump, went unpaid.
Mr Lennon of John Paul Lennon and Co, Consulting Engi¬
neers, Rosehill Terrace, Cork, who represented himself, outlined thaf he had the order with him in court.
Mr Whyms, BL, told the court that they were seeking to have the judgement set aside and that the matter was likely to take 30 minutes.
Judge Durcan said, "This is a matter that will take some time and today is not an appropriate day to deal with it."
He asked Mr Lennon to see when he might be available to attend an adjourned sitting of the court.
Mr Lennon, who informed the court that he was a civil engineer with a practice in Cork, said he would be available anytime after October 31.
Judge Durcan ordered that the matter be fixed for hearing on December 12 next at 2pm and adjourned the case to that date.
