Leeneia, I have enjoyed hearing yodeling for many years. Western music didn't get much play in RI when I was growing up, but once in a while it could be heard on a variety show. One of the original Mickey Mouse Club Museketeers, Darlene Gillespie, occasionally yodelled on that show. (I liked Annette but liked Darlene more, but I guess Walt Disney disagreed with me). As I began listening to folk music, I heard yodellers from other parts of the world. I still don't hear it very often, but last night I had fun clicking on one YouTube video after another. At times like that, YouTube really is a rabbit hole!
