I only changed the socket one time. Since then the name has been consistent. Last night, after posting, I tried

vnstat -l -i enp0s26f7u1

which, I understand, tracks live capture from enp0s26f7u1. As this was running I went online and played a music video and looked at various pages and the output in the terminal did seem to be tracking the browser activity. I updated the database with

sudo vnstat -u

This morning the basic vnstat command shows nothing.
