I wouldn't pay lip service to songs any more . I would sing and play each song like it was written and intended to be sung. I would reach and grasp for the heart of a song or tune , every time I played or sang it.

That way Black Velvet Band and Wild Rover would never lose their heart for me and I would be happy playing to all crowds large or small , attentive or not.

Jon...Please keep having those birthdays...your post disturbed me too. I looked over that abyss many years ago and know a little of what you feel. It got better for me. I hope it does for you too.
