While it is true that Howdy-Doody was never elevated to the status of emperor, it was more a matter of luck than aptitude. Howdy had at least as much leadership ability as Mickey Mouse, and that irritating rodent now controls film studios, television networks, a fleet of cruise ships, and most of Central Florida.
