I came here to find the lyrics which I learnt 30 years ago then forgot.
They weren't here so I've had to remember them.



While Shepherds Washed their socks by night
All seated on the ground
The sheepdogs asked for Christmas off
Or double time all round

For double time we'll guard your flocks
We'll fight the wily fox
Throw in an extra couple of Bob
We'll even wash your socks

And Lo that night was Christmas Eve
A star shone in the East
The Angel of the Lord came down
With sixteen pairs at least

The Angels got their laundry done
Untouched by human hand
They paid the dogs in garden peas
All fresh and newly canned.

This evening when you go to bed
Remember your dogs worth
Not only do they guard your flocks
They brought you Peas On Earth
