Many of you know Winters Wages through his postings. To those of us in the San Francisco bay area who know him, he is greatly valued as a friend and as a musician. He is a chanteyman and accordion/concertina player with the sea music band "The Starboard Watch," a regular at the monthly chantey sings for many years, and a caring man with a great laugh.

He was very recently diagnosed with stage 3 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Last week he had surgery to remove a cancerous lymph gland, and will be undergoing a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The Non-Hodgkins type of lymphoma is treatable, but at stage 3, his prognosis is not yet clear. Any prayers and good thoughts you could send his way would mean alot to him.
