Brexit was achieved on the basis of a narrow majority, in fact a minority of the British people as a whole who had been informed that leaving Europe didn't stand a snowballs chance in hell of succeeding - even the Brexiteers nearly fell out of their high-chairs when the result was announced
If Europe is an Empire, then it is one that the member states, including Britain readily joined
