We have Nigella in our garden and it self-seeds liberally around the place. Very attractive, and good for flower-arranging.

When I was at Grammar School we had 'Domestic Science', and I remember many a battle with Miss Hooper about accurately weighing the ingredients for, say, a Victoria sponge on those little scales-with-weights. She must have groaned inwardly poor woman when I piped up yet again, "My mum doesn't bother, miss!" I have to say (boasting) that my sponges were always the best out of the whole class! (and my pastry!)

I have to avoid seeds/nuts in food somewhat as some of my teeth can't always cope with them...
