I've always thought that music returns to individuals different forms of satisfaction. Some love lyrics, some the musicial progressions and chord patterns. And the various levels of musicianship, while sometimes irritating, should be nurtured by the better musicians, and for the less gifted, they should have some level of resolve to improve their skills to hopefully obtain a higher degree of satisfaction. In the end, all jam participants should get their 'fix' from music, however that plays out.
