Religious folks can object to "God damn", especially if they've never heard the song before and don't know it's coming. People who know the song are aware of when to stick their fingers in their ears.

With regards to Linn's mention of copyright, I don't think you need a license or permission, but you have to credit the song and pay royalties. Rogers' songs are fiercely protected by family and lawyers.
