A well-known trick (idea? hint? even - God forbid - hack?) here in Oz, where we really know what heat is, is to freeze a couple of water-filled drink bottles......having first left room for freeze expansion, I know about this scientific stuff......and use them as cold water bottles on hot nights. A couple of friends swear by it as a cooling agent.
