Stan did a concert back in the Chicago suburbs about a year before he died at Fermilab, which had a folk concert series back then. He was on a bill with the Red Clay Ramblers. He closed his set with Barrett's Privateers. After the show someone in the audience, indeed, said they found as born again Christians that the phrase Goddamn them all was offensive. Stan thanked them for their honesty and said what he found offensive was the notion of a the whole universe bowing in homage to some grand pubba ruler. Then he walked off.
