Don't try this at home, kids! From the UK Express & Star newspaper:
Pupils e-mail death threats
Two Staffordshire schoolboys sparked an international operation by CIA agents after they sent e-mails threatening to assassinate US president George W Bush. The messages were sent to the official White House website but were tracked down to a classroom at Blake High School, in Hednesford.
Britain's Special Branch teamed up with the Central Intelligence Agency to investigate the source of the threats. The 15-year-old "assassins," who have not been named, were traced and were shocked to be visited at home by Special Branch officers.
They escaped prosecution and suspension after claiming the e-mails were just a prank. However, they have been given a severe telling-off from both the police and their school.
It is believed the electronic messages made threats to kill the president and included lewd references to his 19-year-old twin daughters Jenna and Barbara.
Heather Bowman, the school's headteacher, said: "The boys received a stern reprimand from both the police and the school." The thoughtless prank proved that in this electronic age all communications were traceable and attributable, she said. Mrs Bowman added that the school had been in the forefront of developments which made international communications easily accessible to all. She said: "The school is well aware of its responsibilities and has good monitoring and security systems in place which are constantly being updated."
A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Special Branch officers made inquiries at the school after allegations that threatening e-mails had been sent."
