I was wrong when I said "I suspect they no longer make guns, just buy and sell old ones." They actually make new guns to the exact specification of original Grant, Atkin or Lang guns. My Dad has made enquiries about Grandpa's shotgun, It's always been in the family so there's not much point paying for it's provenance, other than to find out the original price, but apparently to have an equivalent built by them now to the same standards would cost œ25,000.

Incidentally this was a classic example of the limitations of the internet as a research tool. I couldn't have made the initial link between Lancaster and Lang without hard copy sources in a good reference library. Once that link was made it was relatively easy to track down the Lang website on the net.
