The earliest commercial recording I know with the "Rose Tree Melody" was 1868: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW0U1WEoEks Norman Kennedy of Aberdeen.
Hamlish Henderson recorded it in 1955 from Duncan MacPhee in the berryfields of Blairgowrie, Perthshire in the summer of 1955.
