The Blue Hand
Almost 20 years ago my right hand turned blue. Bright blue.
I was alarmed that circulation might be blocked but my hand was warm and fully sensitive without a trace of numbness or pins and needles.
The back of my hand was bluer than my palm. I drank no colloidal silver so it wasn't that. I showed my GP the hand and he sent me immediately to a cardiologist which I thought was overkill. I felt healthy except for a sore lower back and smoking side effects.
The doctor was totally stumped. I went home and looked for any causes on my own. It turned darker blue as if I had a ring that was really a hor-crux but I wore no rings. It was then I noticed my hand became bluer after a shower. Gradually it spread to my neck and I was getting nervous.
My back was not getting any better either. I noticed I was bracing my back with my hand or just tucked in in the back of my waistband. That was it. The washing machine confirmed my suspicion, it was the new shirt from K Mart made in Bangladesh that had a dye that was activated by water. It rubbed off invisibly but water would set the dye to turn blue. I went back to the store and bought more of the identical shirts. Alcohol would not activate the dye, only water.
I still have the fine particles of the invisible dye suspended in alcohol. Since then there has been only one occasion when a certain brother in law got a Xmas present from Santa of a nice bottle of after shave.
