Ah Big Al, 'Wolf Hall' and 'Bring Up The Bodies' were so gripping and I read them so much the books are now falling to bits! Also the BBC drama 'Wolf Hall' was really well done, very sinister.
My husband is absolutely obsessed with English history, and Henry V111 fascinates him. We've visited the Tower of London, but have yet to go to Hampton Court. (I went as a girl, but not in the last fifty years)
I reckon you're right about the history in England being rather taken for granted. Here in Norfolk, Castle Acre for example dates back to 1090, yet it's all very low-key. And our many Norfolk medieval churches, around 635 still standing, are just 'there' but not particularly vaunted.
I think Lucy Worsley could be quite a sassy lady; she has a very naughty twinkle in her eye.
