This one's a bit offbeat ...I'm not sure if it works unless you know the original (quoted at the end)
Bradypus
I Saw a Peacock
I saw a peacock with a fiery tale
A sad and lonely peacock looking for a mate
I watched that lonesome bird, and wondering at his fate
I saw a blazing comet shower down hail
I saw a cloud, girt with ivy round
Above the peacock lonely, with weary heart and sore
For nature's changing now, the old ways are no more
I saw a sturdy oak, crawling on the ground
I saw a pismire swallow up a whale
Or so it seemed to me, so deeply did he frown
And then a wondrous sight! His sorrows for to drown
I saw the raging sea, brim full of ale
I saw a Venice glass, full sixteen fathom deep
A blazing pattern on it, all of peacock's eyes
A deep etched tale of loving, of longing and of sighs
I saw a well, full of men's tears that weep
I saw their eyes all in a flame of fire
The peacock found his mate, so did his heart rejoice
The peacock and the peahen, together giving voice
I saw a house, as big as the moon and higher
I saw the sun, even in the midst of the night
I saw his tail, displayed with awesome pride
I heard his boast, all rivals put aside
I saw the man, that saw this wondrous sight.
I saw a peacock with a fiery tale
I saw a comet shower down hail
I saw a cloud girt with ivy round
I saw an oak tree crawling on the ground
I saw a pismire swallow up a whale
I saw the raging sea brim full of ale
I saw a Venice glass, full sixteen fathom deep
I saw a well, full of men's tears that weep
I saw their eyes, all in a flame of fire
I saw a house, as big as the moon, and higher
I saw the sun even in the midst of the night
I saw the man, that saw this wondrous sight
