Theresa May is very likely to make a catastrophic decision, bypassing parliament in order to embroil this country in an unwinnable conflict, which, technically, she is permitted to do. She knows that she will lose any vote of MPs to involve the UK except on extremely restricted and limited grounds. Cameron couldn't do it and Blair did it by lying to parliament. Assad and the Russians are in the ascendancy and the rebels are mostly unsavoury to say the least. Unqualified involvement will have us there for years and it will provoke even more terrorism. Corbyn has done exactly what any responsible opposition leader should be doing, calling for a debate and vote in parliament before any decision is made to get militarily involved. The excuse that it would mean betraying crucial intelligence to MPs is typical bullshit of the sort we've been putting up with in the case of the Salisbury poisoning. The people of this country don't like being lied to and a YouGov poll showed that there is very little appetite in this country for a lethal scrap with Russia.
