There's also a hilarious piece about this soup in "One More Time: the best of Mike Royko" (University of Chicago Press, 1999). For those not in the USA, Royko was one of the best newspapermen ever. If they'd shown us his articles as examples in English class, we students would have understood essay writing with a lot less grief.
