Personally, I gou to listen to an individual's interpretation of the song - That is what I tty to share with a listener
I can't reaaly do it if I have to read it
We recorded an example of this from Walter Pardon - he half remembered a song and found a text he had written and read/sang it for us - nearest example of alter singing badly we ever recorded
On a later visit he had remembered it and sang it for us - perfick!
Fot me, it's not just a matter of pleasing the listener; in order to enjoy a song I have to make it work for me - I have never been able to do that while reading it
