Subject: RE: BS: Odd, rare words
The ongoing question / drift
about counting conventions like five-and-twenty.

If I had the time now,
I would attempt a little comparison
of different language groups.
I suspect that Latin-based languages,
so called Romance languages,
don't do five-and-twenty,
but knowing me I'm probably mistaken.

Joe Offer mentioned veinticinco, that means twentyfive literally.
Spanish example -- romance /Latin-based languages.

However:
fünfundzwanzig -- High German, not based so much on Latin.
Maybe the Plattdeutsch species does this too?
Should pursue that sometime.
