Jon, I'd try that, but I fear my other half may complain about the state of the keyboard... ;-)

Mic seems to be set up now - had a bit of a test run on one of those karaeoke groups, since there wasn't a Mudcat room open.

At uni, a friend used to use half a clothes-peg to hold the "run" key down when we were playing Doom - this may be worth trying.
