You're quite right Steve. My sister warned us about that - it actually causes inflammation of the nasal passages. He doesn't use it much now, just if he's desperate.

It's strange, because he's just done four hours of intensive gardening, cutting the grass, clipping back flowering shrubs and pulling out weeds in full flower, but his nose seems to be behaving itself.
I'm beginning to think it was indeed the crop-spraying.
