I did try that but they did not align under the notation. I couldn't figure out if my ABC editor was an old version or I coded it incorrectly.

One thing I've noticed is that searching for stuff in Lilypond seems more successful than searching for the same stuff in ABC. I was trying to force all stems up, away from the lyrics. Despite a long search I could not find out how to do this in ABC. I found how to do it in Lilypond in a couple of minutes.
