QuickTime, which comes with the Mac, should be able to play the various sound files.
However, you may have to go to the preferences for your browser and remind it to associate various file types - like midi, .wav, .mpg, .avi or what-have-you - with the relevant programs and plug-ins on your Mac
If QuickTime won't work for whatever reason, then RealPlayer should do the trick.
