I'm afraid I must disagree, Don. Tennis is bloody Dullsville, compared with badminton, real tennis and, most especially, squash. Tennis is too much about physical advantage, for a start (you'll never serve an ace against a decent player in the others), too much about power (tennis players seem to spend most of their time hitting the ball as hard as they can, or near as dammit), and I've yet to hear players of any of the other variations routinely & noisily grunting & groaning (or shrieking) their way through a match.

I don't mind watching a bit of tennis, don't get me wrong, but it is the runt of the litter. A 100m sprint stretched out to marathon length. With lots of stops for a rest. Endless dull baseline rallies. An almost complete lack of subtlety & strategy - overpower your opponent, or wait for them to make a mistake. Quite why it's the richest & most popular of the main four racquet sports is beyond me. And don't get me started on tennis & the Olympics!
