I am no fan of Wimbledon, but at school tennis was my favourite sport, followed by cricket.

We were often allowed to choose which of a several sports we wanted and all the skivers like me went for tennis. So we had dozens more people waiting than the two courts could accommodate, so naturally we generously always let the people who actually wanted to play go first. We could go the whole season without actually playing at all.

Cricket was nearly as good. Half the time you were not playing, and the other half by picking the right fielding spot you didn't play either.
