Heaven is lonely, for Sartre said, "Hell is other people." Or, more correctly, "L'enfer, c'est les autres." Perhaps you'd prefer Hobbes', "Hell is Truth seen too late."

But the Buddha teaches, "It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell."

But, as Isaac Asimov said, "I don't believe in an afterlife, so I don't have to spend my whole life fearing hell, or fearing heaven even more. For whatever the tortures of hell, I think the boredom of heaven would be even worse."
