Thread Name: Carl Franzen/ Michael Johnson/ Lonnie Knight
Subject: RE: Carl Franzen/ Michael Johnson/ Lonnie Knight
I've always played the John Denver version of this song but recently found the Michael Johnson and Carl Franzen versions on Youtube. Both include the "Shoo-be-doo" interlude but add what I guess is another verse, though it differs a bit in syllable count:

"Way away from my home I spent a day or two to see the world around.
And when I'd seen all the sights, there was the moon so round."

I may add this to my performance but I'm not convinced it adds that much. It seems to me to be lacking the charm of the other lyrics. Something just seems to be missing. It feels to me like an afterthought in the middle of the tune.
