Well, if there's to be no agreement on how big a slice of bacon is, then saying that a rasher is "one slice" or "a few slices" is meaningless. So, it would seem to mean something more like "a serving", with the caveat that your rasher/serving may be my little taste.

To borrow from Crocodile Dundee, "That's not a rasher. THIS is a rasher!"
