That's exactly what it was like - it supported the forearm, wrist and part of the palm. The support she was using before tried to do the same, with rigidity provided by a curved aluminium bar, but didn't control side-to-side movement as well and was a lot bulkier.

Don't underestimate the heat problem on setting, though.
