36 here today. A team of poor blokes was tarmacking the huge car-park at Tesco's, and looked as if they were about to collapse. Inside the store, three elderly ladies were being seen to by the first-aiders - they were obviously overcome by the heat. It was cooler in there, but outside the sun was extremely fierce.

We have had rumblings of thunder all evening so far, and lightning, but not a single drop of rain. I told my husband that if we got some appreciable rain, I'd take off all my clothes and do a mad dance (maybe The Floss) in our front garden.
