Industry support for minidisc was long ago ruthlessly abandoned
with no consideration or provision whatsoever for all us suckers who purchased into the format.
It's as brutally simple as that.

..and it was a deliberately functionality hobbled user-unfriendly format right from the outset.

We are on our own to cope as best we can...

I'd guess in hindsight, only a minority purchased the limited number of more expensive USB audio output,
or computer data MD payers...???
So now nearly all of us are in the same boat,
having to rely on transferring audio from the Digital-Analog converter line outs
of whatever still functioning players we can find...

I never did [well.. I have now...] think to find out if Mini Discs were prone to suffer
gradual deterioration and failure same as so many faulty CDs afflicted by CD rot...???
