I certainly heard Vin Garbutt sing this song live, but I'm not sure he ever recorded it. Fairly certain it wasn't on "Valley Of Tees" nor "King Gooden". It might have been on "Young Tin Whistle Pest" ? After "King Gooden" Vin concentrated less on traditional songs, so I don't think it would be on any recordings after that, but would be happy to be proved wrong.
The first "Silly Wizard" LP never made it on to CD [ not legally, at least ], but several of the tracks, including "My Love's In Germany" were included in a 3-CD collection called "Border Lands - The Best Of Scottish Folk" [ along with early Archie Fisher, Hamish Imlach, Owen Hand, "Contraband" and Matt McGinn and others ].
