Thread Name: earliest recordings of Irish singers?
Subject: earliest recordings of Irish singers?
Hi,
I'd like to learn more about the earliest recordings of Irish singers that exist.
I know John McCormack made his first recording in 1904 but I'm looking for singers who sang in a traditional/folk style.
I'm aware of the Doegen recordings which were made between 1928 and 1931.
https://www.doegen.ie/
They are all non-commercial recordings and Irish language material.
Anybody know of singers from around that time or earlier?
Commercial or Non-Commercial.
Irish language or English language.
Thanks,
A
