My godfather was a survivor of the 1944 Warsaw uprising. Even though he had his right arm blown off below the elbow he didn't let that handicap him. He was an avid swimmer and skier and drove standard transmission MGs and Jaguars holding on to the steering wheel with his stump while shifting with his left hand.
