You're right Jon, we're quite fortunate here. My young cousin emigrated with her parents to Ontario many years ago, and said they sometimes got minus 30 degrees Celsius in winter. They had to cover their mouths with a woolly scarf, as if they breathed in, their lungs might freeze!
And our 34 degrees here this summer was as nothing compared to 40 degrees with 90% humidity which my in-laws put up with many times in Ivory Coast.
