As a second thought. You could set up team viewer or similar between the machines. You might then be able to control one machine from the other even though keyboard and mouse are not available from the actual machine.

Unless it has actually completely crashed.

I have run teamviewer sessions between machines for days before now and it doesn’t affect things too adversely.

The other thought is you could open task manager on the machine that you predict will fail with high cpu processes at the top. You might then be able to see the process even though you can’t move the mouse or the keyboard. I presume the monitor is still on and showing?
