Friday Night is Music Night; War Horse: The Story In Concert

War Horse: The Story In Concert features the music of Adrian Sutton and was developed from the National Theatre's production of War Horse.

Since its opening in 2007 this has spent more than 8 years in London's West End and has now played to more than 7 million people all over the world, as well as being adapted for the big screen by Stephen Spielberg.

This latest version of War Horse sets the book alongside the dramatic sounds and colours created by the orchestra and choir and as they and the narrators bring Michael Morpurgo's story to life in a completely new way.

Ken Bruce presents a special concert version of Michael Morpurgo's story of Joey, the young farm horse who travels from the peace of the Devon countryside to the battlefields of the Western Front.

This performance was recorded earlier this year at Coventry Cathedral as part of the BBC's Biggest Weekend and features the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by David Charles Abell, Hertfordshire Chorus, baritone soloist Mark Stone and is narrated by Simon Callow and Juliet Stevenson.
