Specially arranged versions of songs from each of the four years, played by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and sung by Bob Fox, Chris While & Julie Matthews, John Tams, Jez Lowe and Barry Coope.

Jim Boyes will be singing an orchestrated version of “Passchendaele”, the ballad he contributed to the 1917 programme and also joining Barry Coope and the others to create a mighty chorus for their songs.

These will be interspersed with readings from his books, War Horse and Private Peaceful, by Michael Morpurgo and an Interval talk with songs from Barbara Dickson and Billy Bragg.
