I recently found Don Henley's version. Where had I heard it before??? Likely from Harry Nilsson, but maybe the Dillards, too?
I like Don's stripped down version the best. But it is a song for that age, and has Harry written all over it.
And who else? Surely John Hartford would do this song proud. But in Don's version, I really hear Paul Siebel. A voice I do miss!
