Regarding Baccalieu / Bacalhao Light:

If Jack's father's boat was "lying to 'bout 25 or 30 miles southeast of Bacalhao / Baccalieu" when he was born, then I vote for Bacalhao Light, near Twillingate. 25 or 30 miles southeast would put it near Musgrave Harbour, a good place to "lie to", i.e. rest at anchor or tied up. On the other hand, 25 or 30 miles southeast of Baccalieu Island would put you well out in the Atlantic, a poor anchorage choice at about 500 feet of depth.
