In the US, tangos are usually mixed into the genre "Torch Songs". I found one in a 1957 songbook called Torchy. The tango is 'Careless Lips (Tango Roulette)'. I also have a songbook of Latin American folk music that has a tango song (urban folk) in the section on Argentina, along with country dance songs. I am trying to put something together to sing with accordian accompanist. I like to dance the Tango, so I am trying to track down the sheet music or more songbooks.
Julio Iglesias, in his recording called "Tango" wrote this: "This album is dedicated to my parents. I believe I was born because of a Tango."
