Gary and Vera got the song when they appeared at Worksop Folk Club many many years ago.

Whilst the idea for the song could have multiple starts, they asked John “Mitch” Mitchell for the words as he wrote it.

Funnily enough, my favourite verse doesn’t get mentioned.
