I was reading a defence of this song by a "committed feminist" last night - no, I don't have too much time on my hands, thank you; I'm just easily distracted - in which she said, among other things, that the question, "Say, what's in this drink?" was a humorous catch-phrase of the day, that shows up here and there in old movies in situations where someone is agreeing to something despite whatever their qualms may be. Now, I've never noticed that ... anyone?
