It’s quite feasible that CM do have a copy of the masters, although past discussions of this issue would indicate that they have been stored in far from optimal circumstances, which might explain why the poor quality CM reissue sounds like a needle drop bootleg from vinyl. However, there will also have been reference copies of masters of Leader releases made, which will have not necessarily ended up in the CM stash and which will have been taken far better care of (in fact, I have it on good authority from various reliable sources that this is the case). It is not beyond the realms of possibility that the Domino remaster was from a reference copy.
