We've been a member of the EU for almost half a century, during which time we've enjoyed prosperity, security and peace in Europe. Unarguable. Cameron's 50-50 vote was extremely skewed. A vote to leave, shattering the status quo, was virtually irreversible once the assumed mandate had been carried out (until it is, I suppose there's hope). A vote to remain would have been challenged again and again for decades and would have been easy and cheap to reverse. That simply can't be right.
