SmokeyPokey has a very wide range of sounds, and can almost talk!
When he's very cross and we're not taking enough notice, he bellows at the top of his voice (BBRRRRRR WAAAAAHHHHHH! BRRRRR WAAAAAAAAH!) It's ear-splitting and one is compelled to attend to him.

When it's a 'pitiful' request, he just opens his mouth and howls, but not quite so loudly as the cross one.

He sometimes pokes me with his paw (hence SmokeyPokey) and says, "Ah-oo wah? Ah-oo-wah?"

If Sam the Skull is in the vicinity
he does a sort of chattering sound, "rrrrudder rrruddder rrruddder!"

But we still love his very best trick. When you ask him what he'd like for Christmas, he always replies, "Laptop!"
(I actually reckons he thinks 'Christmas' is another word for 'chicken'!)
